Winter 2008
The Fall Winter 2008 lineup presents great wearable clothes just waiting to be whipped up into a personal fashion statement. The challenge at the beginning of any new season is knowing what to hold on to, what to get rid of, and of course what to buy.
The best and most functional wardrobe is made up of perfectly fitting interchangeable pieces that act as a foundation: a crisp cotton blouse, perfectly fitting black pants and a lightweight black turtleneck sweater. Add to this, other classic pieces such as a well cut coat and a beautiful leather bag.
Once you have the basics down, add in some trendier pieces to update. This season much of what’s in the stores will become part of your future wardrobe essentials: the modern looking collarless jacket, the pencil skirt and the feminine blouse. Ladylike and polished, these classic investment pieces will endure over time. There is a strong direction towards total coordinated looks spiced up with high impact accessories. When shopping ask yourself “where can I wear this?” If the answer is “anywhere” buy it!
Basics that form the foundation of your wardrobe don’t have to be boring. Pack some punch in your wardrobe with something plaid. Oversize cable knits and off-the-shoulder cashmere sweaters will provide a super-cozy look and feel, will keep you current and save you from the predictable! Shades of green and deep purple will be huge hits this season. Also look for teal, cobalt blue, crimson red, bright pink and splashes of orange and chocolate brown.
A personal style statement is well within everyone’s grasp – its just a matter of editing, organizing and selecting the pieces that will leave you equipped for absolutely any occasion.
