A suit can hide a multitude of problems: peak lapels take attention away from the waist, double vents at the back will give a larger man room to move. Slim-fit suits look best on slim men. A body-conscious look is flattering - it's not about “tight” but rather a sleek silhouette. If you shop for the size you are, not what you expect to become or used to be - you'll have more success.
